How long does it take from start to finish to build a concrete pool?
Generally, a pool build will take approximately 12 weeks. However, variables such as the weather or unforeseen issues may mean the process will take longer
I've seen some pools look green, how do you get that colour change?
This will depend on the interior you chose! Example if you were after that light blue crystal-clear water, we would recommend a white with 10% blue pebblecrete otherwise if you were after a deep ocean blue we would suggest going to 100% glass to get that colour of water you want to achieve.
Why should I choose a concrete pool?
While a concrete pool will cost more than a fibreglass pool initially, it has AT LEAST twice it's lifespan!
Concrete pools are built onsite and designed specifically for your requirements, you get lasting quality of your investment.
What's included in your scope of works?
Our standard quotes include the following:
- Council approvals, engineer plans and QBCC home warranty insurance
- Provisional sum for excavation
- Pool plumbing, lighting & filtration
- Tiling and interior finish
- Handover and instructions including chemicals to start your pool and cleaning equipment
Can Sundollar Pools assist with landscaping?
We can point you in the right direction with companies we recommend including electricians and pool fencers
Is it a legal requirement to install a fence around my pool?
Yes, the installation of a pool fence is mandatory. Your pool can NOT be filled more than 300mm of water until you have installed fencing. The fence must be certified, and a final certificate (Form 17) has been issued, for Sundollar to complete and start your pool.
Is it possible to install a concrete pool in a small yard?
Anything is possible! our smallest excavator can go through 1m side access. Whether you're interested in a plunge pool or a lap pool our team can bring your vision to life.
I've never owned a pool before, how do you use the filtration?
Don't stress! Once your pool has reached the final stage, we organise our technician to do a handover with you. We do a full demonstration on how to operate your filtration and show you how to use your cleaning equipment.
When do I get an electrician?
After the pool has been excavated, all box and steel works are completed, and your pool is now concreted. We will carry out some plumbing works, run light cables through internal shell and highlight the earth bar ready for your electrician
How often should I clean my pool?
Our handover team will go through this with you when we handover your new Sundollar Pool to you.
How long does council approvals take?
When your pool is submitted for engineering and approval the "average" time frame is 14 days from submission. Please note NSW certification can be a lengthier time.
Do you have any finance options?
Finance OptionAbsolutely! We have a link on our website that will take you straight to Handypay, simply fill out the enquiry form and they will get in touch with you.
We've partnered with Handypay so that you can access a simple, affordable payment plan for your swimming pool. You can swim now and pay later!
How close can I locate my pool near a boundary fence or house?
The distance requirements for pool placement can vary depending on your local council regulations. We recommend consulting with our expert sales team.
How deep will my pool be?
You can design your swimming pool specifically for your requirements! Depending on whether you were after using your pool for diving or relaxation we can tailor this for your needs. Most common depths are shallow 1.2m to 1.8 deep.
Is a safety fence included in your quote or do I need to organise this?
Yes, we include a temporary safety pool fence while constructing your pool.
What material can I choose for my interior?
At Sundollar Pools, we offer a wide range of pebblecrete, glass bead and fully tiled pool options.
What is the payment schedule?
We have broken down your invoices into 6 stage payments that are payable on completion of each stage.
- Initial deposit
- Stage 1: Excavation, deliver steel to begin steel fixing and erect safety temporary fencing
- Stage 2: Complete box and steel fixing and spray concrete shell
- Stage 3: Tiling
- Stage 4: Filtration
- Stage 5 & 6 : apply pebble interior and handover of your new Sundollar Pool

Should I choose a cartridge or media filter?
In today's modern world, the cartridge filter offers some great advantages. From a small footprint to a very fine particle filter, to minimising water wastage and the cost saving of not loosing pool chemicals when cleaning.
While the media filters are a very good product, which is well worth talking to our expert sales team about your needs.
